Rococo window

In many ways, Rococo windows bear a strong resemblance to Baroque windows. Unlike Baroque windows, however, several elements of Rococo windows are asymmetrical. The transom sits higher, rendering the upper sashes smaller than the lower. The external fittings, modelled after acanthus leaves, are also asymmetrical. The fittings are tacked to the windows with hand-forged tacks.

The sashes have a profiled rebate, or edge, that overlaps with the jamb and posts, making the window seal more tightly.
